SESSION I: Road Transport of Hazardous Substances (Chair: John Rathbun - Austin Powder International) This Session is prompted by the prevalence of road transport incidents involving explosives. It looks at the challenges from perspectives such as truck standards, driver performance and transport contractor management

SESSION II : Safety performance indicators (Chair: Terry Bridgewater - Chemring Group). The purpose of this Session is not to discuss members’ incident statistics but rather the actual indicators used to measure Safety performance. These include unusual lagging and leading indicators which are effective in predicting safety performance

SESSION III:  Security and Safety Sensitive Substances (Chair: Noel Hsu - Orica USA Inc). The objective of this session is to demonstrate to explosive manufacturers the need for diligence in manufacturing and throughout the supply chain

SESSION IV: Emergency response and crisis management (Chair: Thierry Rousse - Groupe EPC). How companies managed crises and responded to emergencies is the focus of this Session. The Papers discuss the lessons that can be learnt in this regard by reviewing major accidents in the Explosives as well as Oil and Gas industries

SESSION VI: Incidents with Initiation Systems and primary explosives. (Chair: Enrique Barraincua - Maxam). This Session aims to expose delegates to a number of actual incidents that have taken place in some member companies. The presentations will highlight useful information to prevent a recurrence of these or similar events
